Aaron McKinney, 22, high-school dropout and drug dealer, was convicted of murder, robbery, and kidnapping in the 1998 beating death of gay college student Matthew Shepard. He was sentenced in a Wyoming court in November to life in prison without parole. Russell Henderson, 21, McKinney's accomplice, drew two consecutive life sentences after pleading guilty in April.
